Everything about your postnatal period
During the last check-up after childbirth, the midwife will discuss contraception options with you.
If you are breastfeeding, there is a possibility that you will not have your period for a while. However, the first ovulation always takes place before the first menstrual period. This will make it hard to determine when you are fertile again.
Blood loss from childbirth usually stops 4-6 weeks after birth. Around that time, think about which form of contraception best suits you and your partner.
